I am, as you must know by now, developing a stand-alone “theme” for WordPress meaning that no alteration in WordPress core will be needed. This will infact work just as a regular theme, and with a “theme-switcher” you can use your blog at the same time aswell for regular XHTML and for XML to be used in applications such as Macromedia Flash or Flex and so forth.
However it is not easy to create the perfect structure of the XML nor will it be 100% possible to make a complete XML output that consider everyones needs. My goal with this project is to be able to use WordPress as a easy CMS system for publishing dynamic Flash projects.
My goals:
- Make a simple flash driven blog, categorized and commentable.
- post headline
- post content
- post excerpt
- post date
- post published / unpublished
- Make Pages to work, by using page-templates in flash (brr)
- Listen to all your needs
- Fix those needs I find possible
- Publish it as an XML theme for all of you to use as you whish!
